For me, Alans death is a marker of sorts, a reminder that somewhere a timepiece is ticking its somber tone for me too. My faith is large enough to contain the sound, but perhaps barely. I just totally admired Alan, even though I could see his imperfections, that was alright with me because I share them. More importantly, Alan made a pretty good bid at transparency he put himself out there, on the line, in a way that was decidedly honest and forthcoming. Remarkable, that feat alone, from a guy with probably more to hide than most. Me, I hide a large percentage of my totality.
